Each year, the Rotary Club of Fort Myers South honors a top male and female athlete from each area high schools based on athletic and academic achievement, along with strength of character. The annual Scholar-Athlete Awards are presented each May to the recipients of the awards and scholarships.

The annual Rotary South All-Star Classic events take place each December. The All-Star Classic was founded by Sanibel resident and football enthusiast John Carrigan in 1989 and was the first county-wide organized all-star football game in Florida. Under the continued leadership of Rotary Club of Fort Myers South, proceeds from the event support college scholarships as well as grants for local community organizations.
