Charitable grants totaling more than $4,000 were awarded to four Lee County-based organizations by the Rotary Club of Fort Myers South at its meeting on August 25, 2014: Hope Clubhouse, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Interfaith Charities of South Lee, and The Music Foundation of Southwest Florida.  Rotary South’s 2014-2015 President Rebecca Goff is pictured with a representative of each organization. Jim Larkin – Rotarian of the Month

The Rotary Club of Fort Myers South has named Jim Larkin Rotarian of the Month for July 2014. He was presented with the award in appreciation for his continuing support of our weekly meetings and special events at the Crowne Plaza where he serves as General Manager. Jim has been instrumental in keeping the service level high and our costs reasonable over the years. Our Exchange Student from Denmark

In the wee hours of Sunday, August 3, 2014, Rotarians gathered at Southwest Florida International Airport to greet a very special visitor.  Fredrick, our club-sponsored exchange student from Denmark was greeted by warmly around 1:00 A.M. The welcoming committee included Rotary South President Rebecca Goff, Secretary Steve Wassmann, Rotary District 6960 Governor Pete Doragh and Governor Elect Cyndi Doragh.
